I love crocuses.  Earliest Spring, snow on the ground, I'm out there nudging the leaves looking for the very first signs of the crocuses shooting up out of the soil.
    I've painted crocuses with snow on the ground and old leaves but this time I wanted the green of Spring with these beautiful giant crocus opening wide to the warm sun.  A hardy plant heralding glad tidings of Spring.
